Auto-generate the next Sample ID

As a mobile app user, I'd like Flow to automatically generate the following Sample ID so that I can enter data without having to scan through previous records to figure it out.
It can be challenging to remember the following number in the sequence, especially if working on big jobs with lots of samples.
Example of consecutive sample ID's:
ACME001, ACME002, etc

We're improving the behaviour of text inputs and comboboxes so that you can see all previously entered values.
This will make it easy to know wha the next sample id should be.

I understand that this could be challenging if multiple surveyors are working on the same building, but if each sample ref had the surveyors initials in, it would still be unique and they can all start from 1 then +1 each time they add a sample. It would also help if the "same as" sample numbers also did this and referred to the sample they were considered the same as.
In a perfect world, if, for example, textured coating was selected, it would be great if the pictures of the previous samples of textured coating were displayed, to help the surveyor choose which sample it is the same as.

Thanks for the feedback, Debbie.
Automatic generation of Sample ID's is an interesting problem since everyone has their own preferred format.
You use the surveyor initials, but others don't. So that would also require logic to work out automatically. And it would be specific to each of our clients.
It's likely we'll develop the feature below for "remembering previous values" before we have automatic sample ID generation: https://roadmap.flowmobile.app/features/p/remember-previous-values
That will help a lot when creating the next Sample ID. Since you'll have a much clearer idea of what sample ID's you've added before.
PS. I can see how the material hints may be a useful time-saving feature. I like the textured coatings example. So I'll raise that as a new feature request now.
